    Terraba Sierpe Mangroves Tour Details

Relax in a comfortable boat ride through the amazing Terraba Sierpe mangrove ecosystem. Depending on the ocean conditions, this tour departs from either Uvita beach, or you/us will drive to a meeting point located near the mouth of one of the channels of  the Terraba Sierpe river.

Both options, by boat or by car, take approximately 15 minutes to get to the mouth of the river. Once we reach the Terraba Sierpe mangroves, our experienced captain will navigate for about 3 hours on the boat through the intricate mangrove wetlands that will allow you to enjoy the unique experience with some of the most interesting flora and fauna that Costa Rica has to offer. On this tour, we often see various species of birds, crabs, monkeys, snakes, and with a little luck, a crocodile may appear on the riverbanks.  Our bilingual certified guide will share his knowledge and fun facts about this special ecosystem and the history of how the mangroves were formed and the great biological and commercial importance of this wetland .

The Mangrove tour finishes in the  meeting point near the mouth of the river channel or if the tide conditions allow us to navigate through the river mouth we will finish the trip in Uvita beach .
