Our story in nature-based tourism

The snorkeling trip to Cano Island was fantastic! It’s a beautiful ride out to the island (about 1-1:20hr ride) but can be a bit rough for those who might get sea sick. The snorkeling visibility was excellent. Jellyfish were a bit of a nuisance. Nothing more than little, quick stings but irritating for those not prepared for it. Wearing long sleeve shirt/rash guard is very helpful. The guides were fantastic and very knowledgeable. We saw a ton of sea life, including multiple sea turtles. After snorkeling, there was a report of whale sightings so we bypassed getting off on the island, ate a quick lunch (which was fantastic!) and went to see a mama humpback and her baby! Awesome day. Would highly recommend!

I’ve always found whales very strange. Even though I knew a lot, I still learned a few more things. I love nature. I believe my own life has improved more while watching them.

Great experience. The guide and crew did a great job. We weren’t sure we would see any whales as the first sightings of the season were only the day before and far away, so we expected to have a long boat ride to get to where they had been spotted…but 20 minutes in and we saw them! First boat there. The driver was respectful and kept a good distance but also allowed us all to get as best view as he could. They also showed us around a cove and the guide was very informative about everything. And we stopped for a swim to cool off, and we’re given some fruit. Even in reception before leaving we had free coffee and some really nice banana bread. The guide was super friendly and kind too.
